Join us. We meet the THIRD THURSDAY of every month at the Mineral County Chamber offices in downtown Superior. Meetings start at 7 pm.

Chamber Meeting – February

The Mineral County Chamber of Commerce met February 16 at 7 pm at Chamber Offices in Superior. Stay tuned for minutes.

Featured Speaker: Forest Ranger *Tawnya Brummet* of the Superior District Forest, Montana. Topics include the Route of the Olympian and other current Forest Service projects.

Business meeting will include committee reports, membership report, discussion of redoing sign by the hospital.

–Announcement of Newest CHAMBER OFFICERS FOR 2012:
Chamber Secretary, Carol Young
Chamber Treasurer, Roni Haskins

–Committees Reports:
FLY-IN : Mary Jo Berry, chairperson – plans for 2012 fly-in will begin in Feb.
GOLF TOURNAMENT : Mike Dodd will be chairperson for 2012 Chamber Golf Tournament.
RIVER TRAIL Project : Judy Stang is still working on this project.
OFFICE Volunteers : Mary Jo Berry is seeking volunteers to staff the office,
particularly in the summer months. Volunteers will also be needed to help install sign in front of office.
COUNTY CLEAN-UP : Mary Jo Berry is looking into logistics of this project.

–Publicity:
Highway sign near the hospital needs to be replaced. Nolan Webber will chair this project and will seek volunteers for artistic ideas.

–Steve Carty, Mineral Community Hospital CEO, was unavailable due to meeting being rescheduled; will speak at a later meeting.

Chamber Meeting Rescheduled

The Mineral County Chamber of Commerce meeting has been rescheduled to this Thursday, January 26 at 7 pm. We hope to see you there. We meet in the Chamber Offices. We’ve got plenty of room so join us as we work to better the businesses and communities of Mineral County for the benefit of all live and recreate here.

(The meeting scheduled for January 18th was cancelled due to weather).

–Election of Officers: Anita Bailey, President
Nolan Webber, Vice-President
The offices of Secretary and Treasurer will be officially appointed at January meeting.
–Rich Milender, Chamber website designer, explained the workings of the website and Google Analytics.
–County clean-up was introduced as a possible Chamber project for 2012.
–Winterfest 2011 was well-attended and Mineral County residents were very generous in their donations for children’s toys.

FAIR Building Restoration Campaign

The Mineral County Fair Board has issued “a plea for help” to repair the Fair Building in Superior. Used regularly by the 4-H and many community functions (in lieu of a community center), the Board has launched an outreach campaign. Click to read more in PDF: Fair Building Rebuild Campaign

Highlights from Chamber November meeting: November minutes MCCoC 11_2011

–Darlene Dunham, Tobacco Prevention Specialist at Mineral County Health Department, spoke on new tobacco laws coming soon and offered support for businesses to comply. Her contact info is: 822-3564, ddunham@co.mineral.mt.us

–Website is up and running, thanks to website designer, Rich Milender and Chamber webmaster, Glenda Wallace. Check it out at www.MontanaRockies.org

–Superior Christmas decorations: Discussion is ongoing with Northwestern Energy to provide cost-effective lights for Superior’s downtown Christmas decorations.

–Winterfest 2011 – Dec. 3 – Dec. 17. Many activities planned. Will be advertised in the Mineral Independent, posters around Superior, and Chamber website. Questions, call Committee Chairman, Robert Lyons, 822-4749.

–Election of Officers: The following will be on the ballot for 2012: Anita Bailey, president & Nolan Webber, vice-president. Elections will be held at Dec. meeting.
