The Mineral County Chamber of Commerce is announcing another dinner* in its well-attended and popular series: Travel Montana Administrator Betsy Baumgart will be talking about the beneficial economic and social impacts of tourism to the state of Montana.

Entitled "Tourism Speaks," her presentation will "provide information about the travel and recreation industry, visitor and resident viewpoints, and the beneficial social and economic impacts [of ] travel and tourism." She'll also provide an overview of the new "Montana brand platform" unveiled at the Governor's Conference on Tourism and Recreation.

"Our intention," Baumgart said, "is that this new brand platform will serve to create one unified message which will strengthen our collective marketing power to Montana's potential out of state visitors."

For the last six years Baumgart has lead the state's tourism and film promotion efforts, as Division Administrator for Travel Montana and the Montana Film Office." She is also an active member of the Travel Industry Association of America; serves on the National Council of State Tourism Directors Board of Directors; and is secretary to the Western States Tourism Policy Council."

* This is the last meeting in the bi-monthly presentation series that is scheduled before the summer tourism season. Stay tuned for the 2008-09 series this fall.

For $8.50, those who attend the meeting will enjoy Barron of Beef, creamed peas with new potatoes, corn, salad, and dinner roll. Beverages will be provided by the Chamber.
