Outdoor Burning Season opens for 2015 on Sunday, March 1st. Burn Permits are not required in Mineral County from March to April. However, come May 1st for those living outside the towns of Alberton and Superior, Burning Permits will be required*. Fire Danger usually closes the season by July. Note: Burn Permits are not required within the town limits of Superior or Alberton. The Town Clerk of Alberton does issue Burn Permits to residents within the town, if a permit is desired. *For info on May Permitting process, contact your local fire district within the Lolo National Forest. To know that it's SAFE TO BURN, remember to call the Outdoor Burning Hotline on the day you burn (406) 258-4900.
