Mineral County Chamber Meeting Highlights Hello folks. Here are the Meeting Highlights from June 21 Chamber of Commerce meeting, held at DeBorgia Schoolhouse (see link to complete notes below).
MEETING HIGHLIGHTS - JUNE
--Minutes & Treasurer's Report approved --Motion passed to donate $100 to Mineral County Performing Arts Council for Shakespeare in the Parks Aug. 22 performance
--Speaker, Sheila Wesselman, president, WestEnd ATV Association gave a summary of the group, its community contributions, and activities, highlighting the group's efforts to assist in completion of the Route of the Olympian and the necessity to make it multi-use for the greatest economic benefit for Mineral County (see notes below).
--Chamber Golf Tournament: August 25. Motion passed to engage professional fundraiser David Mirisch to assist at the cost of $1000, taken from the tournament's profits.
--Yellow Pages Business Directory: Ads are being solicited for next Mineral County Business Directory
--River Trail Project: Judy Stang reported that several funding sources have been identified and negotiations with landowners are continuing.
--Fly-In: There will not be a fly-in this year, but Peggy Temple has agreed to chair this event for 2013.
--Micki Tourtelette, Mineral County Relay for Life chairperson, was on hand to give information about this year's Relay for Life event, June 29, and urged everyone to participate by displaying or wearing purple on that day.
--Chamber By-Laws Rewrite: The Chamber By-Laws need to be rewritten. Anyone wanting to help, please contact the Chamber Office 822-4891 or Anita at 649-1304.
