FOOD, GOOD PRODUCTIVE TALK & FUN ensued at the August 16th Chamber Meeting in Alberton.  Here are the highlights:

--Minutes & Treasurer's Report read and approved --Richard Werst, community volunteer and member of the Alberton Community Foundation, gave a background of the Foundation and its service to the community: support for local food bank, community garden, library, festivals and events, and educational offerings --Chamber Golf Tournament, Saturday, August 25:  Still room for teams, silent auction donations, call Mike 203-2268. $60.00 entry fee for each individual player, includes golf, cart, continental breakfast, dinner. --Chamber Office: Air conditioning was installed, workshops are held there on a regular basis. Chamber shares office space and costs with the Superior Technical Assistance Committee (STAC), which may lose its funding. STAC committee is in need of a chairperson. St. Regis Visitor's Center is also facing state funding cuts and may be forced to close after this year. --Winterfest 2012 still in need of a chairperson --Yellow Pages Business Directory: November is the deadline for ads --Sign near hospital: Town of Superior is making arrangements to replace
